Does Samidorphan Reduce Olanzapine-Induced Weight Gain?
We discuss a study on the use of the mu-opioid receptor antagonist, samidorphan for olanzapine-induced weight gain, compared to placebo.
– Samidorphan is a mu-opioid receptor antagonist that has been found to reduce weight gain induced by olanzapine, more than placebo. However, more evidence is needed to prove clinical significance.
– The only significant adverse effect of samidorphan has been more somnolence compared to placebo.
