  5. Iโ€™ve made 88 circumnavigations of the Sun and 25% of the way around on my 89th trip. I make a large batch of steel cut oats in my old Presto pressure cooker every Sunday morning and save it in the fridge. Iโ€™m the same weight I was 45 trips ago. The recipe follows.

    Two cups of tap water, a cup of steel cut oats and 1/2 tsp of salt in a foil covered bowl goes into in my Presto pressure cooker for 5 minutes and then a 12 minute in the cooker rest in the cooker off the heat. Itโ€™s enough portions for the week. After a 2 minute microwave heat-up, a couple pinches of cinnamon and nutmeg, a restaurant size pat of butter and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup in a bowl and itโ€™s ready.

  6. Hoping to โ€œfeel fullโ€ and eat less by taking fiber supplements never worked for me. But then I tried Oat Bran! Wow, I feel full for hours and can actually walk through the kitchen and turn my nose up to the snacks and temptations. For breakfast Iโ€™ll have 2/3 cup of oat bran with 1.5 cups water and 0.5 cups unsweetened soy milk(to cream it up a little) I add 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries, two tablespoons of almond butter, a square of 95% dark chocolate, monk fruit extract and salt to taste..Thats about 570 calories and I may only feel like eating once more much later in the day! Only thing is that since oat bran is so high in fiber you need to drink a glass of water afterwards or it can be constipating because fiber absorbs so much water. So I just follow my oat bran bowl with a nice glass of fresh squeezed lemon water. Iโ€™ve never felt fuller for longer and Iโ€™ve lost a couple of pounds just over a week of doing this.

  7. Oats is really good for the heart. always be my breakfast. I don't know if its really for dieting as I crave more food after eating oats.I don't mind though.

  8. No amount of fiber is going to curb hunger if the person is insulin resistant and leptin hormone is off because one is overweight in the first place. Fiber curbing weight loss is true in theory, but too many different factors cancel out fiber. A person eating 38 grams of fiber a day is probably eating a lot of grainy carbs and other things that will increase insulin.

  9. I cant eat oats without adding fruits or real honey and nuts…i dont know how people eat them only with water or milk plus a pinch of salt!!!!
