  1. I have a question about my gallbladder. I went to the doctor because of abdominal pain, and after a couple ultrasounds, they told me my gallbladder is contracted. I was told to come back in a few days for them to check it again. They told me the same thing, and said my gallbladder isn’t functioning. I haven’t had any stomach issues in 3 years since I had it checked. However, my skin has been breaking out a lot and I get big cysts (could be unrelated). Is there something I can do to get my gallbladder functioning again?

  6. Dr Berg, can you tell me why people with gallstones are not supposed to eat Turnips?
Since I cut out red meat, cheese and processed, refined carbs haven't had an attack but would like to have Turnips as a substitute for potatoes.

  7. Thanks to Dr. Berg I am on the way to recovery from having Gallbladder stones. I am taking bile salts and I am able to digest food and no more Gallbladder pains. Thank you for all your help Dr. Berg. You literally saved me from painful agony.

  8. I had a ruptured gallbladder in February. I was told I became septic by ER Dr in my 2nd ER visit, because I was misdiagnosed by the 1st ER Dr at my initial visit. I wound up spending 6 days in the hospital. I vomited the whole stay. I could not eat & lost 18 lbs. I was constantly pumped with Cipro & Flagyl. My 5th day I had 2 procedures in that 1 day – a stent put in & gallbladder removal. I cannot figure out what went wrong in my diet to cause the rupture. I ate moderately healthy. I hardly ever ate red meat. I drank alot of water & herbal teas. I had my weakness with Dr Pepper, dip, nachos & mild hot wings- which I indulged 1-2 x's per month & not all the named foods. It was 1 or the other. I am telling my experience so maybe it will help someone else to not have to have their gallbladder removed. I did not present with the usual or typical symptoms. The only symptom I can say for sure was the belching – and who doesn't do that, so I didn't think anything of it. Once in a while I had heart burn. The only time I had any other/severe symptom was the day my gallbladder ruptured. The pain feels so intense that you think you are having a heart attack. I could hardly breathe from the pain, pain radiated between my shoulder blades & I vomited frequently. The 1st ER Dr sent me home! Told my hubby I just probably have an ulcer. In the process with the hospital trying to have that bill to be dismissed for being misdiagnosed.
