Maintaining a healthy and nutritious diet and consistently engaging in various cardiovascular exercises are the keys to losing weight. People seeking a challenging, new workout can try boxing as a form of losing weight. You don’t necessarily have to get in the ring with an opponent; the workout itself is an effective way to shed some pounds.

Boxing is a serious calorie burner; it is also very efficient in burning fat. The high-intensity nature of a boxing workout means it is very good at burning visceral fat, or the fat commonly found around the waist. You can expect to see results in as little as 4 weeks.

Boxing workouts can quickly and dramatically help you burn off fat. When you box, you are undergoing a Full Body workout mixture of cardio and high-impact training. Such activities will help you become leaner, more toned, and much stronger.

Boxing is a High Impact cardio workout that offers a significant calorie burn. Cardio boxing workouts burn more calories than other types of cardiovascular exercise. A typical boxing session can burn up to 1000 calories. When compared to other cardio stables such as walking (243 calories), jogging (398 calories), and running (544 calories), the calories burned by a session of boxing beat them all. If you’re looking to lose weight fast and reach your weight loss goals quicker, boxing workouts are for you.

While boxing is a serious calorie burner, it is also very efficient in burning fat. The high-intensity nature of a boxing workout means it is very good at burning visceral fat, or the fat commonly found around the waist. All fat isn’t created equally, and belly fat is associated with toxins that change the way your body works, leading to a higher risk of various diseases. Belly fat is associated with a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers such as esophageal cancer, colon cancer, and pancreatic cancer. Boxing is a great way to reduce that visceral fat around your waist and help reduce the medical risks associated with it.

A boxing workout works the entire body, getting all of your muscle groups involved to up the intensity of your workout and help you lose weight faster. With the constant punching of a speed bag, the shadow boxing, jumping rope, and resistance training built into most boxing workouts, you won’t need to add much to your daily exercise routine to achieve the results you want.

  1. After the last year of weight training solidly I’ve noticed I’ve become less defined and sluggish. Just gave this a go and felt the burn! I’ll be including this into my cardio plan. Thanks mate

  2. Nate, When lockdown began here in Queens, I started going out to the Kasciusko Bridge every morning and doing your 20 minute hit workout. I'm 56 years old and now, because of NateBowerFitness, I can move like I did decades ago. Thank you. Keep the content coming cause I don't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

  3. This is PERFECT! Thank you for doing this. I'm 55 and need to lose weight or I'm not going to see 56. I've got 2 bad knees, torn rotator cuffs, a permanently damaged wrist (can't bend it but it still supports my weight if I can keep it straight) and a job that keeps me on the road most of the year. I just tried your workout for the first time and I can physically do all of it (in short chunks) and it is great for getting my heart rate up and breaking a healthy sweat. It's exactly what I need and no painful after effects.

  4. Currently I am 285, I personally hold weight well, most people guess I am around 260. I was going to the gym everyday doing cardio, lost 15lbs but it has been starting to get slow at losing. I do minimal weight lifting, not my favorite. Boxing has always caught my eye. Going to try doing this work out everyday on top of the cardio, I think this will make a big difference in pace.

  5. Now present I am 113kg with this workout I will make I to 83kg garuntee. Thanks for the workout .

  6. My first day doing this excruciatingly amazing workout and I've only managed to push myself till minute 8th 😩.

    Gonna keep on trying!
